How Does the FLAMES Calculator Work?

This calculator follows the name-counting FLAMES method used in the code:

  1. Both names are converted to lowercase.
  2. Spaces are removed, so full names can still be used.
  3. The calculator compares the two names and removes matching letters one pair at a time.
  4. It counts the letters left after those matches are removed.
  5. That number is used to eliminate letters from the word flames until one letter remains.
  6. The final letter is mapped to Friendship, Love, Affection, Marriage, Enemy or Sibling.
