Episode 6: The Correction Team (Psychological Thriller) Author: Kavitha.V The footsteps stopped outside Room 707. Eun-chae held her breath. The door handle turned slowly. Her eyes darted to the laptop screen. Jaejoon's video had frozen, but a single line appeared across the display. "Don't let them see your eyes." Before she could make sense of it, the door opened. Three people walked in. They were dressed in plain black suits. No badges. No uniforms. Their faces were calm, almost emotionless. A woman stepped forward. "Eun-chae," she said softly. "Please come with us." Eun-chae took a step back. "Who are you?" The woman answered without hesitation.
"We're the Correction Team." "The... what?" "We correct unstable memories before they become dangerous." A cold feeling spread through Eun-chae's body. "I don't need anything corrected." One of the men pulled out a tablet and tapped the screen. He turned it toward her. Subject: Eun-chae Memory Version: 3.1 Correction Attempts: 3 Status: Critical She stared at it in disbelief. "I'm not a subject," she whispered. "I'm a person." The woman smiled politely. "You've said that before." Suddenly... The lights went out. The room fell into darkness. A second later, red emergency lights flickered on, filling the hallway with an unsettling glow. At the same time, the laptop screen came back to life. Jaejoon's face appeared. This wasn't another recording. He was looking directly into the camera.
"Eun-chae!" Her heart skipped. "Jaejoon...?" "I don't have much time," he said quickly. "Listen carefully." The Correction Team immediately turned toward the laptop. "We've got a system breach," one of them said. Jaejoon continued. "Leave Room 707. Take the emergency stairs on the left. Go to the third floor." "Why?" "They're not hiding the files there." He looked terrified. "They're hiding the people." The screen went black. "Stop her!" someone shouted. Eun-chae ran. She sprinted through the hallway as alarms echoed throughout the building. Every door looked the same. Every corridor seemed endless. She found the emergency staircase and rushed upward.
Third floor. She pushed open the heavy metal door. Everything inside was white. It looked almost like a hospital. Glass rooms stretched down both sides of the hallway. People sat quietly inside them. No one spoke. No one moved. They simply stared ahead with empty eyes. A sign beside one room read: MEMORY RECOVERY – FAILED Another door said: IDENTITY REPLACEMENT – COMPLETE Eun-chae's stomach tightened. These weren't patients. These were people whose lives had been rewritten. She slowly walked forward. Then an elderly man inside one of the glass rooms looked directly at her. For the first time, someone reacted.
He raised a trembling finger and slowly wrote on the glass. JAEJOON IS ALIVE Her breathing stopped. She stepped closer. Before she could ask anything... The building's emergency siren blared. A cold voice echoed through the speakers. "Containment Protocol Activated." "No one is authorized to leave this facility." Heavy security doors slammed shut throughout the floor. The lights flickered. Eun-chae turned around. The Correction Team was already standing at the end of the hallway. But this time... They weren't alone. A man slowly stepped forward from behind them. The others moved aside as if they were making way for someone important. He lifted his head.
The moment Eun-chae saw his face... Everything inside her froze. She knew him. Not from a photograph. Not from a memory file. She knew him from her own past. But there was only one problem. He had died years ago. To Be Continued...
